Title: Gender Mainstreaming Fellow
I am a Global Health Corps fellow because I believe in health equality and social justice, a belief that is achievable and includes gender mainstreaming in health equity initiatives.

Abraham Eceku is from the Amuria District, Eastern Uganda. He founded the Teso Professionals Alliance, a group that brings together graduates from different institutions of higher learning in Uganda to take initiative in civic and micro finance education aimed at poverty alleviation and health equity in Teso. Abraham was also a coordinator of Community Based Services in Ngora District Government. While there, he recognized a lack of gender mainstreaming in health as well as in community development practice, and this observation led him to pursue a master’s degree in gender and international relations at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom in 2014. Abraham completed his undergraduate degree in development studies at Uganda Christian University in 2010. Most recently, he has been active in gender mainstreaming work and community engagement with the aim of improving the health and livelihoods of the poor in the Ngora District.
