Not only does community provide a sense of belonging and a basis of support, but it also serves as an incubator for individuals to share their stories, ideas, and insights in a capacity that allows for growth and positive change in ways otherwise unimaginable.

Carly Hubbard is from Redlands, California. While an undergraduate, she studied development and social change in Nepal, piloted an Art for Healing program paired with English lessons for at-risk women in Bangladesh and assisted in the coordination of a team of diverse young professionals providing guidance and technical expertise to local entrepreneurs in Bali, Indonesia. Carly completed a bachelor’s degree in international and area studies at Washington University in St. Louis. She also interned with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations in Washington DC where she provided outreach strategy and support in securing new funders. Most recently, Carly relocated to Wisconsin where she has been working to provide organizational assistance to the Wisconsin Obesity Prevention Network at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has enjoyed being on a team working to provide a structure for the statewide obesity movement across diverse partners in government, academics, communities, advocates and funders. In her free time, Carly loves to explore the outdoors, cook for friends and family and enjoy the people around her.
