Title: Advocacy and Policy Associate
I am a Global Health Corps fellow because I strive to give a voice to the voiceless. All individuals deserve the right to healthcare, and I believe it is my duty to advocate for them.

Farnaz Malik grew up in Yorba Linda, California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in integrative biology and minoring in global poverty and practice. While at Berkeley, Farnaz volunteered at the Women’s Daytime Drop-in Center, which provides resources for homeless women and children in the Bay Area. She is a recent graduate of the department of epidemiology at the University Of Michigan School of Public Health where she received her Master of Public Health and a certificate in global health. During her graduate studies, Farnaz traveled to Managua, Nicaragua for a summer internship to work on a study assessing the healthcare needs of Nicaraguan children. She is passionate about using research and advocacy to bridge the healthcare gap for economically disadvantaged populations. In her free time, Farnaz enjoys running, traveling, cooking up new recipes and spending time with family and friends.
