My motivation to enter into the field of global health stems from the many health inequities I first hand saw my grandmother encounter while living In Jamaica. I am committed to being a catalyst for change for marginalized communities.

Lanice Williams is from the Bronx, New York by way of Kingston, Jamaica and has lived in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Howard University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Master of Science in health education. During her graduate studies, she focused on sexual and reproductive health issues. After receiving her Master of Science degree, she worked at University Research Co. LLC (URC), a global company dedicated to improving people's quality of health care, social services, and education. In spring 2015, Lanice completed research and academic travel experience in Havana and Cienfuegos, Cuba where she studied health and health equity. Prior to GHC, she worked as a Program Specialist with the Government of the District of Columbia. Currently, she serves as the co-chair for the Young Professionals Program with United Nations Association-National Capital Area (UNA-NCA), is a member of the American Public Health Association, is an adjunct lecturer at Howard University, and a board member of the DC Rape Crisis Center.
