Title: Program Manager-Community Health Services
"Community is hope, because a success in one should touch others."

Emily Sullivan is originally from Maplewood, New Jersey, but has lived in Washington, D.C., for the last two years. She holds a Bachelor's in Public Health with a concentration in Women's Studies from the University of Maryland (UMD). While at UMD, Emily interned at the Children's Defense Fund in their child health department and at A Wider Circle, where she taught a course on healthy pregnancy and parenting to teen mothers. Additionally, she volunteered for a grassroots development organization in Tanzania (TAFCOM), which emphasized women's and girls' empowerment and reproductive health education. Since graduation Emily has worked as a program assistant at the Population Reference Bureau in their international department. She supported most of their gender-related work, which furthered her interest in gender-based violence prevention. Emily enjoys reading, hiking, and making jewelry.
