Jonathan is from the Mangochi district of Malawi on the southern shore of Lake Malawi. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2011 at the University of Malawi, Polytechnic, where he studied Management Information Systems. Prior to joining the University of Malawi, he volunteered at Malawi Children’s Village (MCV), an NGO that operates in a catchment area of 36 villages where he taught orphans and vulnerable children, helped in distributing farm inputs, food stuffs and clothes to targeted families, and cared for babies and toddlers who were raised in MCV’s rehabilitation center. He was also responsible for the development of a computerized information system for MCV. After finishing his studies, he volunteered at an NGO called Malawi Network of Religious Leaders Affected or Infected by HIV/AIDS (MANERELA) as an IT Technician before joining GHC. At MANERELA he was responsible for hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance, end user support, management of the local area network, negotiating IT contracts on behalf of the organization, and advising management on emerging IT issues. He enjoys chatting, traveling, writing and following current affairs.
