Virginia grew up Milan, Italy. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in South Asian Studies from the London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she interned at an HIV/STD prevention and care program for female sex workers in India. Virginia completed her Master’s in Global Health Science at the University of Oxford. During her graduate program, Virginia interned with Columbia University’s International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs – Global Health Action in Tanzania, where she helped implement a project on HIV/TB community care. Prior to her GHC fellowship, Virginia worked as a mobile clinic project manager and researcher for Emergency – Programma Italia, a national project aimed at improving healthcare access for migrants and other vulnerable groups in Italy.
