Aisha Mitchell, Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator
The root of many injustices stem from the knowledge and experience gap between communities, and decision makers for those communities. I am proud to work at GHC to recruit and develop young leaders around the globe to deepen their knowledge, soften their hearts, and begin to dismantle the oppressive systems that have perpetuated health inequities for far too long.
Aisha Mitchell joins Global Health Corps as Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator on the Communications & Advocacy team. She is honored and excited to help GHC think critically and strategically about managing the recruitment process and helping source talented emerging young leaders committed to social justice and health equity. Before joining GHC, Aisha served as Assistant Director of Corporate and Employer Relations at Elon University, where she managed relationships with hundreds of organizations across industries and locations across the U.S., to connect undergraduate students to valuable professional opportunities. Additionally, she collaborated with faculty, staff, and student groups to create career development strategy and programming for students across 50 majors. Prior to Elon, she worked in various capacities including operations & compliance, event management, and external partnerships, in a public charter school in Washington, DC. There she used her Chinese language skills and continually advocated for the health and wellbeing of children every day.
A proud DC native, Aisha graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elon University with her Bachelors of Arts in International Studies with an Asian concentration, and minors in Political Science and Business Administration. She loves trying new foods, practicing yoga, and being outside at any chance she gets.
