Hannah Wood, Development Associate
Inspired and driven by the belief that health is a human right, I believe our community has the guts to challenge the status quo and spark challenging – and long overdue – conversations about the intersection of gender, race, and health. I’m proud to advocate for and actively support this skilled, passionate, and resilient global community.
Prior to joining GHC, Hannah spent more than three years working in Rwanda in youth engagement and community health program coordination. At Never Again Rwanda, she helped lead and manage peacebuilding and conflict resolution forums bringing together young leaders from over 20 countries and three continents. As a Peace Corps volunteer, she managed grant funded public health initiatives and projects to improve long-term health outcomes in Muhanga, Rwanda. Hannah is originally from Indiana where she earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Indiana University’s School of Public Health. In her new role, Hannah looks forward to supporting and strengthening developmental processes used to bring young leaders to greater levels of influence. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys reading, exercising, and working on creative writing projects.
Fun Fact: Craft beer is Hannah’s specialty, as she spent a couple years working at a brewery. She’s our go-to for all questions about IPAs, doppelbocks, and pale ales.
