Isabel Kumwembe, Malawi Program and Operations Coordinator

I believe that every common goal takes innovation, collaboration, diversified skill sets and heart together to create impact. Waking up every morning to work with a community of change makers reminds me of the power in unified action. Everybody plays a part in building a world we hope for and working for GHC helps me play mine.

Isabel was a 2013-2014 GHC fellow where she was the Communications & Development Coordinator with the Art and Global Health Center Africa (AGHCA), in Malawi. She holds a Bachelors of Social Science degree from the University of Malawi. While in university, Isabel founded CHANCO: Project Rejuvenation, a student driven volunteer grouping aimed at rehabilitating dilapidated infrastructure at the important institutions in Malawi which she continues to mentor to date. Isabel is currently the President of the Rotaract Club of Lilongwe: an international service club for young professionals dedicated to service above self. Isabel is passionate about volunteer-ism and enjoys working with youth to address development issues.
