Lyv Norris
U.S. Program Coordinator

Prior to joining GHC, Lyv (she/they) worked as the Policy and Advocacy Coordinator at Fenway Health. They primarily managed two advocacy projects: Activist Academy Fellowship and The People’s Sex Ed, which are hosted by the Getting to Zero MA Coalition (GTZ). GTZ is a statewide collection of community-based organizations and individuals who are dedicated to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Lyv has also contributed to state-level legislative advocacy and coalition efforts related to sexual health education, youth empowerment, reproductive health, and overdose prevention. Being in community has always been the most meaningful aspect of their journey, and is the catalyst for their deep passion for advocacy and equity. They are a native Bostonian and UMass Boston alum, where they earned a bachelor’s degree in social psychology and anthropology. She is currently pursuing a master’s of public health in health equity at Boston University. Lyv enjoys watching TV and taking walks with her pup named Blueberry.

Fun fact: Lyv is an aspiring birthworker/midwife, has trained as a birth doula, and currently volunteers with the Neighborhood Birth Center.

In my perspective, health equity means that in every community globally individuals have the tools and resources to achieve health and wellness in a holistic sense. Working towards health equity requires us to build new systems and structures that are explicitly anti-racist and center health as a human right. I’m honored to do work that aligns with my vision for impact - which is that we must pour into our communities.
