Mwape Chibuye
Fellowship Admissions Coordinator

Prior to joining GHC, Mwape worked as an associate for Ashoka West Africa through the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AUYVC).  As an associate, she supported Ashoka in the planning, evaluation, implementation and strengthening of both Youth and Fellowship initiatives.  She has also supported the US Embassy in Zambia in the recruitment processes of US exchange programs, particularly the Mandela Washington Fellowship.  

Because of her passion for youth development, and commitment in creating opportunities for young people Mwape has also been a volunteer for the past two years for the Nyuma Harrison Foundation (NHF), where supports the team in improving Healthcare access, education and leadership development for children in marginalized communities in Zambia. 

Mwape is an alumnus for both the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) for Southern Africa, and the Mandela Washington Fellowship at Skyline College in California. She holds a degree in Education from the University of Zambia. And a professional certificate in Youth development with C4YDS, and their partners University of Minnesota and YIPA.

Fun Fact: Mwape is an extremely passionate reader, from fiction to leadership books. In 2021, she bought a total of 20 books including some of her favorites “Think like a monk” by Jay Shetty, “The truths we hold, “by Kamala Harris, and “Against the odds” by Mizinga Melu
