Alyssa Palmquist is originally from New Mexico but now lives in Northfield, Minnesota. She attended Tulane University in New Orleans, where she pursued bachelor’s degrees in public health and international relations. During her time at Tulane, Alyssa tutored Tibetan refugees in Northern India as part of a service learning study abroad program and completed a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship with Mayo Clinic. After graduating cum laude in 2011, Alyssa joined Partners HealthCare International (PHI) in Boston working on global patient services and clinical development programs. In late 2013, she joined PHI’s international team in Doha, Qatar where she served as program coordinator for global programs, managing staff training and clinical consulting initiatives. Most recently, Alyssa volunteered with the NGO Rachna Satrei in Cambodia raising awareness for gender equality and women’s rights in the rural communities surrounding Siem Reap.
