I am motivated by the hope, positivity and determination that I have seen in communities gravely affected by health inequities. This energy and spirit inspires me to be a part of the global effort to end these disparities.

Amy is from Brookline, Massachusetts. She completed her undergraduate studies at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, majoring in Diplomacy and World Affairs. She spent a semester studying community health and social policy in Durban, South Africa, and volunteered to teach health workshops in Kigali, Rwanda. Amy also interned with the United Kingdom Mission to the United Nations, the International Rescue Committee, and was co-president of the Students for Barack Obama club on her campus. She moved to Washington, DC after graduation and joined John Snow, Inc. as a Program Coordinator on the USAID-funded Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program where she helped to the develop immunization programs in sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia. She then took a position with the Open Society Foundations as a Program Assistant on their advocacy team, where she worked on public health and human rights issues. Amy loves yoga, baking, and cheering on the Red Sox!
