Access to quality health care and treatment should be a human right regardless of socioeconomic status, gender and race.

Ann Duong was born and raised in Zeeland, Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, majoring in economics of health and development. This individualized concentration allowed Ann to focus her studies on the combination of economics, anthropology and public health. While at the University of Michigan, she founded the organization Breastfeeding Across Michigan, which is a group that promotes breastfeeding and creates lactation-friendly spaces. She also developed a related mobile application. During her studies, Ann traveled to Vietnam where she worked on projects including developing a retrospective study comparing the quality and care of doctors and hospitals in Vietnam and constructing a proposal for the use of Mobile Health programs for the treatment of HIV/AIDS individuals. Prior to joining GHC, Ann worked as an IT Consultant for ICF International where she supported the development and implementation of technological tools for health-oriented organizations.
