Author: Ben Haggai Onyango

Ben is from Nairobi, Kenya. Prior to joining GHC, Ben completed his degree at Catholic University of Eastern Africa, with a major in Sociology and a minor in Political Science. For the past seven years he worked for the NGO Carolina for Kibera, located in one of the largest urban informal settlements in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ben worked on major initiatives with the organization, including incorporating sexual and reproductive health into the HIV/AIDS services, establishing an under-five nutrition center, and setting up three community health units in areas of limited access to healthcare. He also worked with the Planned Parenthood Global Youth Peer Provider program, introducing the program in East Africa and contributing to the development of the program’s Replication Manual as well as acting as a senior trainer for the East Africa program. In addition to his work, Ben has run the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon four times, to raise funds for eye care.
