Author: Casey Kilburn

Casey is from Raleigh, North Carolina. She received her bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management and a minor in Social Work and Nonprofit Studies from North Carolina State University. As an undergraduate, Casey studied abroad at The University of Ghana and played on the NCSU Women’s Varsity soccer team. She spent the year prior to her GHC fellowship in Lusaka, Zambia as a Monitoring & Evaluation intern for Grassroot Soccer, a nonprofit organization that uses soccer and sport-based curriculum to teach kids about HIV/AIDS and life skills. While in Zambia, Casey took part in a 300+ mile charity bike ride to raise awareness and money for HIV-related initiatives in Zambia. Casey is an avid soccer player, enjoys cooking (and eating!), painting, yoga, and anything outdoors.
