"Community is important to me because it is the start point of making change, achieving social justice and building strong, sustainable nations."

Celine is from Kigali, Rwanda. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Kigali Independent University, majoring in Economics. Before continuing in graduate school, she worked mostly with startup organizations in the public and nonprofit sectors in which she managed operations and projects and enjoyed being part of small and versatile teams. She has been an active member at her church in Kigali, where she is part of the youth choir. She has also participated in a number of community activities including visiting and feeding the sick in hospitals, raising funds to assist genocide orphans, and other charitable works. She received her Master's in International Economics and Finance from the International Business School at Brandeis University in 2011. Since completion of her graduate studies, she interned with a Dallas, Texas-based think tank focusing on health care policy research and volunteered with the African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries. Celine hopes to be a positive influence and to help the disadvantaged. She enjoys outdoor activities, yoga, and traveling.
