I motivated by knowing that I was put on Earth for a purpose and it doesn't matter what I am doing, I have to put 100% of myself into it.

Doris Osei-Afriyie grew up in Ghana, but has lived in New York and Chicago for the past thirteen years. Prior to joining GHC, she worked at United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries where she provided monitoring and evaluation support for a maternal and child health pilot project in Nigeria and Haiti. Doris received her Master of Public Health from Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health in sociomedical sciences and global health. During graduate school, she spent six months abroad in rural Ghana to conduct a study to understand healthcare seeking behavior for emergency care. Doris also worked with the Global Research Analytics for Population Health Project at Columbia University to assess the effectiveness of primary health interventions in the United States and globally. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago in comparative human development and has worked with Breast Cancer International, an NGO based in Ghana where she collaborated with policy makers and community leaders to advocate for breast cancer awareness in health policies. Doris enjoys reading and discovering new cuisines.
