Emma Heneine hails from Georgia, USA. She is a social justice activist dedicated to eliminating health disparities by strengthening health systems. During her tenure at Duke University, Emma volunteered at a transitional shelter for families in Durham, North Carolina, where she provided financial coaching and professional development support to single mothers. As a summer intern at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Emma conducted research at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Emma also conducted research on indigenous Maya women's sexual and respiratory health in Guatemala. In her free time, Emma enjoys adventuring, traveling, eating well, and going to live music shows. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.
