Ivan Mwase hails from Kampala, Uganda. Most recently, he worked as a nutrition consultant with PREFA, implementing infant and child feeding programs in rural Uganda. Previously, he worked with Concern International as part of a nutrition response team that managed the South Sudanese refugee influx in the West Nile. Ivan has volunteered with NARO Uganda on research projects focused on food fortification, diet diversity, and enhancing rural household incomes. Dedicated to children’s health, he has also worked with Mwanamugimu, a nutrition rehabilitation unit for malnourished children at Mulago Hospital in Uganda. Ivan holds a bachelor’s degree in food science and technology from Makerere University and a master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Glasgow.
