Hailing from Lusaka, Zambia, Jedidah Millapo Karia is a dedicated changemaker in the health sector. As Training Officer for Capacity Building at the Institute for Health Measurement–South Africa, she designs and delivers digital health training programs for healthcare workers. Her leadership helped successfully roll out the digital health platform Smart Care Pro, benefiting public healthcare facilities. Jedidah’s expertise in curriculum development and team leadership has resulted in significant improvements in program effectiveness and participant engagement. Under her management, over 100 public health workers have benefited from capacity-building initiatives, and more than 1,500 clinicians have been trained on the SmartCare Pro platform. Notably, her efforts facilitated the transition from paper-based to electronic health records in 157 rural facilities, enhancing healthcare access for underprivileged communities. Jedidah is thrilled to be part of the GHC fellowship, believing it will equip her with essential skills to grow as a leader and make a greater impact in healthcare. Through mentorship and engagement with other fellows, she aims to innovate training methodologies, enhance learning experiences, and contribute to a healthier Africa by empowering health workers to strengthen health systems.
