Kate Segal studied international relations and Portuguese at Tulane University in New Orleans. After graduating, Kate worked as a legal assistant for Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean at the Center for Reproductive Rights, a legal advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and promoting reproductive rights at the national and international level. She then pursued a master’s degree in international affairs at The New School which included a summer conducting fieldwork in Mumbai, India with Slum Dwellers International. For the past three years, Kate has been working at Human Rights Watch as an associate for the Americas division, which monitors and documents human rights violations in Latin America.
