Author: Metzli Navarro Gonzalez

Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Metzli Navarro Gonzalez has called Dallas, Texas home for the past 18 years. As Health Services Grant Senior Project Manager at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT), Metzli works to support rural and low-income communities living in reproductive health deserts across the state to access the care they deserve. Her work also supports the protection of clinics in larger cities across the state. Metzli is responsible for the oversight of federal grants and special projects related to the provision of health services for PPGT, including serving as the organization’s Title X Project Director. As Project Director, she has developed policies to ensure compliance across clinics statewide and manages the logistics and reporting to the Office of Population Affairs. Metzli recently spearheaded the first reproductive community health needs assessment for all of the clinics within PPGT’s network to support the need for funding and access and better understand patient demographics across the state. Metzli looks forward to becoming a fellow and taking advantage of tools that will advance her health leadership prowess: “Through GHC's health equity initiatives, I will be provided with the necessary resources to assist me in identifying the disparities and inequities that many people face in healthcare and the essential tools to implement health equity.”
