Molly MacInnes grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Before joining GHC, she worked in a community school and health clinic in Thailand to understand the importance of health in relation to education. Molly majored in integrative physiology and neuroscience at Colorado University, Boulder where she was co-director of campaigns for her campus chapter of GlobeMed. As co-director of campaigns, she worked to provide latrines, cook stoves, school stipends and women’s income generation options in rural Nepal. Molly also founded a non-profit, Steps for Doug, dedicated to improving the quality of life for ALS patients and their families through educational scholarships, patient grants and research funding at the University of Chicago. After graduating, she moved to Detroit to become an Anatomy and Physiology Teacher through Teach for America.
