As a McNair Scholar, Nick completed a research internship in biophysics at Vanderbilt University. He also volunteered with a mobile clinic in a slum in Costa Rica, where he saw systemic health inequities firsthand. He was awarded a full scholarship to pursue his Master of Science in Global Health at Duke University's campus in Kunshan, China. He received a fieldwork grant and completed four months of research in rural Nepal, partnering with the Transcultural Psychosocial Organziation to study the prevention of cardiovascular disease in primary healthcare settings.
