"I have lot to do for my homeland. Investing myself in this year's fellowship with GHC is to prepare myself to be a change maker in the world today."

Remy was born in Kigali, Rwanda. He graduated from National University of Rwanda with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. During his undergraduate studies, he volunteered for Operation Smile in Central Africa since its inaugural mission in Rwanda in March 2010. Operation Smile is a worldwide children's organization based in Norfolk, Virginia, that offers free surgery to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other deformities globally. Over the past three years, he has played an active role in recruiting and managing a body of volunteers and translators to help the Operation Smile team during their yearly free surgery mission in Kigali at the Centre Hospitaliere Universitaire de Kigali (CHUK). In 2011, Remy was also involved in a Dutch Investment feasibility study in Rwanda. He served as a business facilitator at Rwanda Chamber Foundation in collaboration with the Netherlands Embassy in Kigali promoting Dutch partnership with Rwandan investors in solar energy, cow farming and poultry. Remy strives to find innovative solutions to development challenges. In his free time he enjoys biking, playing baseball, watching TV, and browsing the internet.
