In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, every day is a new opportunity "...to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, [and] to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

Stephanie is from Pasadena, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Political Economy from the University of California Berkeley and her Masters of Public Health from the University of Washington. Stephanie was a Fulbright Fellow in South Korea, researching disability rights legislation and autism awareness while also helping with the first-ever prevalence study of autism in Korea. Subsequently, she joined the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington as a post-bachelor fellow where she worked on the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2010. Prior to GHC, Stephanie worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation where she assisted with the monitoring of strategic initiatives of the Neglected Infectious Diseases team. Stephanie enjoys traveling, learning new languages, and cooking (and of course, eating!).
