Title: Social Protection and Health Fellow
"Without a community, without its support, we cannot achieve success addressing health disparities."

Vincent is from Barranquilla, Colombia. He attended Miami-Dade Community College and founded the International Student Organization, a group that allowed international students to have a "home away from home" while they volunteered for community and school events. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. After college, he worked at Noven Pharmaceuticals and was the co-inventor of a Levonorgestrel transdermal drug delivery system patent. He then decided to switch gears and follow his heart towards community and public health. Vincent was finishing a Master's in International Health at National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan before joining GHC. While at Yang-Ming, he traveled to Colombia to work with CISALVA/Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights and Fundacion Paz y Bien, where he helped in the implementation of a community-based mental health intervention and assessed the life experiences, needs and difficulties of victims of torture and internally displaced populations. His areas of interest are social justice, human rights, health equity, and vulnerable populations. He enjoys reading, dancing to Latin beats, spinning, running, photography and exploring nature.
