Namuyamba Muyunda
Community Impact Senior Manager, Southern Africa

Prior to joining GHC as a full time staff member, Namuyamba (Nana) worked with the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia where she focused on community mobilization and sensitization for the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) program. From 2014-2015, Nana served proudly as a GHC fellow in Zambia, working at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) on an Early Childhood Development project that focused on the developmental needs of HIV infected/affected children. Her work included project management, resource mobilization, event planning and logistics, community engagement, communications, Monitoring & Evaluation, among others. Nana holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Namibia and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Zambia.

Fun Fact: Nana has a strong dislike of odd numbers. If she finds 3 apples in her fridge, she will take one out!

I believe that with combined effort, we will live in a world where injustice exists no more, a world where everyone has equal opportunities and health equity is a reality. I am proud to be a part of Global Health Corps' health equity movement which embraces young people who have unique skills regardless of whether their backgrounds are in or outside health care because everyone has a vital role to play.
