Bo Hwang is a study coordinator, HIV case manager, and peer health educator. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Gender Studies and Asian American Studies. During his time at UCLA, he led efforts to create the first student-run HIV clinic. He continued his advocacy work at AltaMed Health Services, Asian Health Services, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Bo envisions a world where health is accessible for BIPOC, low-income, immigrant, and transgender communities.
