Originally from Hamilton, Georgia, Deion Whitaker currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. As a health informatics specialist and Implementation Project Manager at Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE), Deion is passionate about leveraging technology to advance health equity, particularly to improve health outcomes in the Black communities that PPSE serves. Deion has led PPSE’s transition to an electronic medical records system, helping to bring the organization's operations into the digital age. His key responsibilities include managing cross-functional projects, orchestrating communications with key stakeholders, overseeing project documentation, and leveraging his expertise in the healthcare sector to liaise with various organizational departments. He also serves as a process improvement champion across PPSE, supporting clinic and cross-departmental staff to ensure patient care remains stabilized throughout this process. He is eager to engage with the GHC community because “its diverse network of professionals will not only enhance my understanding of global health challenges but also equip me with the tools necessary to address these issues innovatively and effectively.”
