Karen Chikezie grew up in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. She attended Yale University where she received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a Master of Public Health in health policy and global health. As an undergraduate student, Karen taught health education in New Haven public schools, volunteered at a free clinic serving uninsured individuals, and traveled to Honduras to work on a microfinance brigade. Karen also spent a semester living in Lima, Peru to study economic development while volunteering at a center dedicated to providing resources for individuals with developmental disabilities. She is especially interested in advancing the health of marginalized populations. In her free time, Karen loves traveling, reading, and seeking out exciting experiences.
