Kondwani is from Balaka district in Southern Malawi. He worked in the Malawi Ministry of Health for eight years, where he was responsible for planning, implementing, and managing disease prevention, control and health promotion projects. Kondwani was honored with the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases award for his work, which led to the integration of hygiene kits with antenatal care in Malawi. He received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Health from the University of Malawi, the Polytechnic in 2010, and holds a diploma in Environmental Health from the Malawi College of Health Sciences. During his off-hours, Kondwani likes to watch movies and play video games.
