Author: Madeline Moore

Madeline Moore grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in anthropology and Spanish from Arizona State University in 2010, she became a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia. While in Zambia, Madeline lived and worked in a small rural village to design and implement community-based health programming. Upon returning, she chose to continue her education in anthropology at the graduate level because of anthropology’s emphasis on developing community-level understandings of social issues. Madeline received her master’s degree from the University of British Columbia in 2015, with her master’s thesis based on fieldwork conducted in a First Nations community in British Columbia. Her thesis looked at the ways in which cultural tourism can be used to combat the history of oppression and violence that currently impacts the lives of many Native Canadians. Prior to joining GHC, Madeline lived in Vancouver, British Columbia where she enjoyed exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
