Megan Knox was born and raised in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and currently lives in Washington DC. While an undergraduate, Megan was part of a research team working to develop a vaccine for intestinal parasitic infections. She and her research team later traveled to Bangladesh to conduct research concerning the risk factors of infection, which inspired her to study global health. She completed her undergraduate studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, majoring in biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine studies. Megan received her master’s degree in public health from Des Moines University, during which time she conducted follow up research in Bangladesh, as well as an internship in St. Lucia. Since completing her studies in 2013, she has worked in healthcare and completed several additional internships in the public health field.
