Title: Resource Mobilization Officer
I am motivated by the fact that millions of people, by factors outside of their control, are prevented from attaining full, productive, and healthy lives. I want to work to bring down the barriers that keep people from living the lives they deserve.

Melissa is from Boston, Massachusetts. Before becoming a GHC fellow, she spent three years working in the Individual Development department at Partners In Health, an international health organization that provides healthcare to the poor in ten countries worldwide. At PIH, she wrote grant proposals and reports and worked closely with the organization’s individual supporters. In addition, Melissa volunteered as an Adult Literacy Tutor with Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts. Melissa graduated from Boston College with a bachelor's degree in Communication and International Studies. While in college, she also volunteered as an International Assistant, serving as a mentor to international and exchange students. Additionally, she worked as the Program Assistant to the L.L.M. program for international lawyers at Boston College Law School and spent a semester abroad at Venice International University in Venice, Italy. In her free time, Melissa enjoys literature, food, traveling, secondhand shopping, and photography.
