Title: Communications and Business Development Officer
"I am on a mission to develop my skills as a leader committed to fulfil our shared vision of a world where humans are treated equally, with dignity, and with respect for their rights, including health."

Rhea is a development communicator from the Philippines with more than four years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She most recently served as the Community Mobilization Specialist of HealthPRO, a USAID project on health communication and promotion of positive behavioral change. Prior to this, she worked in the UN, campaigning and communicating for the accelerated achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and, with other nonprofit organizations, on projects focused on health and children's rights. Rhea graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's in Journalism and Master's Units in Community Development from the University of the Philippines. Her interest in initiatives that promote global citizenship, youth participation and human rights was a result of her training and experiences as a Global Xchange Program (GXP) Volunteer under VSO, where she received the Millennium Volunteer Award of Excellence with her teammates. She considers traveling, understanding other cultures, and service as her passions. As her way of giving back to the global community, Rhea is determined to continue serving in the nonprofit sector. At the same time, she hopes to join the academe to share her skills and help build the capabilities of the next generation of nonprofit leaders who will sustain and scale up development efforts.
