Title: Quality Improvement Coordinator
"Community remains the only social group that can help get solutions to health problems through learning its customs and practices."

Rodrick is from Lilongwe, Malawi. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Malawi, Bunda College of Agriculture, majoring in Agriculture with a focus in Rural Development. After completing his studies in 2008, Rodrick worked for civil service in the Ministry of Education. He was a secondary school teacher, teaching biology and physical sciences. A year later he joined a group of research fellows at Parent and Child Health Initiative as a research assistant assessing cost effectiveness of interventions that targeted reducing maternal and neonatal mortality. In 2010, Rodrick joined Makhanda Trust in the section of facility intervention, focusing on reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality using quality improvement tools and methodologies. While at Makhanda Trust, Rodrick initiated a social service project that mobilized well-wishers to donate blood at one of the hospitals he worked with. In response to a blood shortage crisis for delivering mothers at Kabudula Community Hospital, Rodrick mobilized hospital staff and community members to start a blood donors group. He lived in Lilongwe for four years before joining GHC, and enjoys being an active member of the City Hawks Hockey Club.
