Rose Akello was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda. She attended Kyambogo University where she attained her undergraduate degree in procurement and logistics management. Upon completion of undergraduate studies, she joined Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital as a volunteer in the procurement department unit. While at Fort Portal Hospital, her assignments included managing inventory, distribution, and storage of drugs. She then joined the Women's Hospital International and Fertility Centre, which specializes in reproductive health and fertility among women, as a procurement assistant where she worked until February 2015. During her free time, Rose enjoys reading, exercising and meeting with friends.
