Isabel Algrant

Assistant Director of Training & Technical Assistance

Actionable Intelligence for Social Policy (at the University of Pennsylvania)

Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Isabel Algrant is the Assistant Director of Training & Technical Assistance at AISP. She works to support communities that have been systematically disadvantaged, helping ensure they have a voice in shaping the systems designed to support them. Her work centers on using data not just to reflect inequities, but to dismantle and redesign systems toward justice and inclusion.

Isabel’s commitment to equity was shaped through her work in middle school classrooms—both in under-resourced schools and in independent schools with abundant opportunities. In listening to students and witnessing the varied challenges they faced, she deepened her understanding of empathy, the power of education, and the importance of creating spaces where all voices are heard.

At AISP, Isabel is proud to have contributed to designing a toolkit for centering equity in data work, alongside a learning community to support its use. Through this work, she supports institutions as they strive to be more inclusive and leverage data to improve outcomes for those most impacted by systemic inequities.

For Isabel, health equity means restoring choice and agency to communities whose opportunities have long been constrained. She is guided by Joe Biden’s words: “I’m already proud of you, I don’t even need to see you grow up.”
