Lena Muldavin is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. As an undergraduate, she studied anthropology at the University of Chicago and worked as a certified volunteer medical advocate for survivors of sexual assault in emergency rooms. Lena had the good fortune to study in Peru, where she got hooked on public health. Upon graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Botswana working on HIV prevention programming, provision of care to orphaned and vulnerable children, and the establishment of a counseling center for survivors of domestic violence in her village. Lena returned to the states to obtain her Master’s in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University focusing on health in crisis and humanitarian assistance. While she has thoroughly enjoyed Baltimore’s charm, including a particularly vibrant music and arts scene, she is thrilled to have this opportunity to join the GHC team and expand her horizons.
