Originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Rayna Hill moved to Boston, Massachusetts four years ago. As a Legislative & Policy Manager for the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth, Rayna works to center those with lived experiences whose voices are often not reflected in public policy. In her current role, Rayna oversees the Commission’s policy advocacy and research development work. In this role, she spearheads strategies to further critical policy and budget areas for the Commission, including housing access, child welfare, criminal justice, public health, and more. Passionate about empowering the next generation of advocates, Rayna previously served as an Advisor for the Getting to Zero Coalition's Activist Academy where she supported public health fellows on their journeys to becoming impactful community advocates. She also created an internship program in her current organization that provides tailored and meaningful work experience for emerging advocacy leaders. She currently serves as a Board Member for Peer Health Exchange's Boston Regional Advisory Board. Rayna sought out the GHC fellowship to expand and develop her skills as an effective LGBTQ+ advocate. She hopes to “better leverage my networks to connect with incredible leaders across the world; and to ensure that I have all the tools necessary to create effective change for my communities.”
