Tamara Mulenga was raised in Lusaka, Zambia and the United Kingdom. She completed her pre-clinical medicine studies and first year of clinical medicine before taking a break to pursue a master's degree in global health at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, in the UK. During her studies she volunteered with the Catholic Agency for Overseas development as a parish fundraiser. She has also been an integral youth member of the Brighton-Lusaka Health Link, where she advocated for the charity among university students and the general public, increasing awareness about the plight of healthcare workers at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. She has delivered workshops on public speaking and the benefits of international health partnerships at Medsin's global health events. In her spare time, Tamara enjoys hair dressing, learning Spanish, and learning new styles of dance.
