Role Overview

The Health Informatics Specialist will play a pivotal role in healthcare by bridging the gap between clinical and IT systems. They will be responsible for managing and optimizing health information systems, ensuring data accuracy, and utilizing informatics tools to improve patient care, healthcare processes, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of health information systems, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) platforms.
  • Ensure the interoperability of systems to facilitate data exchange between healthcare providers.
  • Establish data governance practices to maintain data integrity, privacy, and security.
  • Develop and enforce data standards and policies.
  • Analyze healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform clinical decisions and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Create reports and dashboards for healthcare stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and healthcare teams to optimize clinical workflows and the use of health informatics tools.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Train healthcare professionals and staff on the use of health informatics systems.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure efficient utilization.
  • Stay informed about emerging health informatics technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in research projects and initiatives to drive innovation in healthcare.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting health informatics.
  • Manage health informatics projects, including system upgrades, implementations, and data migrations.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health informatics, Healthcare IT, or a related field.*
  • Strong knowledge of health information systems, EHR, HIE, and clinical informatics.*
  • Understanding of healthcare data standards and interoperability.*
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and data privacy laws.*
  • Effective communication and training skills.*
  • Experience in healthcare settings or healthcare IT.
  • Experience with healthcare data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of health information exchange (HIE) protocols and platforms.
  • Expertise in clinical workflow optimization.
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT security practices and technologies
