Elizabeth (Elly) Sukup is originally from Dougherty, Iowa. She attended Iowa State University, double majoring in public service and administration in agriculture and international agriculture. Following graduation, she worked for a local NGO in northern Liberia, and served as a Princeton in Africa Fellow with the UN World Food Program (WFP). She spent one year in Accra, Ghana supporting the launch of WFP’s Food-for-Work and Food-for-Training programs and one year in Ethiopia as a Public Information Fellow. Elly earned a master’s degree in anthropology of development from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London with an emphasis on food security and nutrition. Prior to joining GHC, Elly returned to her alma mater as a lecturer in global resource systems and researched youth entrepreneurship activities in Uganda. Elly loves to travel, listen to podcasts, and is an avid reader.
