Prithi Chandra is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since completing her studies in 2011, she has worked at a boutique consulting firm, providing strategic planning and resource development to Philadelphia-area nonprofits and government agencies. Prithi has worked with her team to develop Philadelphia’s Shared Prosperity Plan, which has created routes to address economic inequality citywide, successfully pursued a multi-million dollar grant from the CDC to fund breast cancer support programming for young women in the region and developed strategies to address poverty, empower the community and attract investment to Philadelphia’s federally-designated Promise Zone. As an undergraduate at New York University, she majored in history and minored in Spanish. While at NYU, Prithi worked at NYU’s archives, which specialized in leftist and labor movements. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at Books through Bars in West Philadelphia, a grassroots program providing books to prisoners.
