Mark Dybul is a professor in the Department of Medicine at the Medical Center of Georgetown University and the Co-Director of the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact. Prior to this, he was the Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. He was a founding architect and driving force in the formation of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, a special vehicle for addressing the AIDS emergency in countries where treatment was almost unavailable ten years ago. Then, he was appointed as the US Global AIDS Coordinator. Mark also served as chair and fellow with the Joep Lange Institute and was Co-Director of the Global Health Law Program at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University. His research focuses on molecular biology, microbiology, virology, pharmacology, and infectious diseases.
