GHC believes that achieving health equity requires confronting the systemic barriers that drive health disparities. Our commitment to equity extends to developing leaders who are equipped to address these challenges and drive meaningful change at the intersection of race and health. 

Health equity is our North Star. Structural inequities, including racial disparities, continue to shape health outcomes worldwide.

The events of 2020 underscored the urgent need for action, sparking reflection and renewed commitments across sectors. GHC deepened our focus on equipping emerging health leaders with the skills and networks to advance equity, foster inclusion, and drive systemic change.

Cultivating Equity-Driven Leaders

GHC fosters learning, healing, discussion, reflection, accountability, and action to develop health equity leaders committed to shaping a more just and inclusive health sector. Through intentional programming, strategic partnerships, and curated learning opportunities, we help leaders cultivate the skills needed to drive change. Our fellows and alumni also play a key role in shaping these programs, including these recent offerings:

Courageous Leadership Across Difference, Discord, and Distance with Dr. Georgette Ledgister

Dr. Georgette Ledgister facilitated a training on inclusive leadership, emphasizing deep listening, connection, and navigating differences to strengthen equity-centered leadership.

Learning in Collaboration

Our online community portal features a curated library of resources designed to spark conversation and learning on racial justice and health equity. The VLC follows Acumen Academy’s Path to Moral Leadership framework, which encourages leaders to approach systemic change with moral imagination and resilience.

Mindful Leadership with Urban Yoga Foundation

In partnership with activist Ghylian Bell, we hosted a six-part series focused on the inner work of leadership, equipping participants with tools for personal reflection, alignment, and integration in their leadership practice.

SONDER For Equitable Leadership with Natalie Patterson

A three-part dialogue series facilitated by equity practitioners, designed to foster deeper understanding of lived experiences, strengthen connections across the GHC community, and support meaningful allyship.

Juneteenth with RAPtivism artist and activist Aisha Fukushima & DEI Facilitator Toyosi Olowoyeye

GHC convened our community to recognize Juneteenth through music, storytelling, and reflection, featuring activist-artists such as Aisha Fukushima and DEI facilitator Toyosi Olowoyeye.

PSiCHArt x Health Equity and Racial Justice

Hosted on a digital platform created by GHC alumna Georgina Denis, this virtual event combined reflection, art, and community building to explore the role of creativity in advancing health equity.

McKinsey Black Leadership Academy

Through this partnership, GHC provided 40 Black alumni with access to executive leadership training, supporting their career growth and impact in global health.
