Prior to joining GHC, Hanif accumulated seven years of experience working in research, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), and data management in public health, international development, and education with international organizations in Southern Africa and Malawi. He started his public health career as a 2020-2021 GHC fellow, working with Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation where he proudly supported two main projects funded by PEPFAR and ViiV Healthcare to promote HIV/AIDS testing, care, and treatment targeting youth and adolescents.  After the fellowship, he worked with Management Sciences for Health as an M&E Specialist supporting the Organized Network of Services for Everyone’s Health Activity, USAID’s flagship health program to strengthen the health system and increased access, improved quality, and increased demand for services in family planning and reproductive health; maternal, newborn, and child health; nutrition; malaria; and water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Hanif holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Zanzibar University in Tanzania. He is also a 2019 Young African Leadership Initiative Regional Leadership Center-South Africa Alumni.  

Fun Fact: In his free time, Hanif is in the kitchen trying out BBQ recipes. He calls himself a Braai Master. He also volunteers in coaching and mentoring university students and newbies in research, M&E, and data analysis.
